Campbell Elementary school in the Austin Independent School District earned Exemplary status under the state accountability system having turned an under-achieving east Austin school into the top state rating in one year. The school is clean, proud and filled with excellent teachers and students willing to learn. Esther Wiley gives her great grand-daughter Darelyn Harper, 6, a kiss on the forehead as she picks her up after school. Parent and teacher involvement is critical to any successful school.
