Former Texas Attorney General Jim Mattox lays in state in the Texas House of Representatives Monday afternoon where he once served. Members of the Dripping Springs varsity football team pay their respects in honor of their teammate Jimmer Mattox, son of the late Jim Mattox, who plays runningback and defensive back on the team.

The players greet Marta Mattox, the widow of Jim Mattox, on the House floor.

A woman blows a kiss with her hand as she waited patiently to pay her respects among the hundreds that stood in a long line on the House floor. In the background is Mattox’s wife Marta Mattox greeting well wishers.
