Nadine Craddick, wife of Texas House of Representatives Speaker Tom Craddick, helps provide holiday cheer for visitors, staff and legislators as she oversees the annual House Christmas Tree. This year the tree is decked out to the theme of “Merry Christmas from Deep in the Heart of Texas”. The ornaments used to decorate the tree will be auctioned off and proceeds from the sales will benefit Habitat for Humanity. ” The tree features cowboy hats, boots, stars, horseshoe-shaped ornaments, Texas-shaped ornaments and cowboy Santas. “Christmas is a time for giving, and in this time, we especially want to remember those less fortunate than us,” Mrs. Craddick said. “Habitat for Humanity is a wonderful organization that brings the dream of home ownership to many people for whom it would otherwise be unattainable. I’m pleased that we’re able to donate the Christmas tree ornaments to such a worthy cause.” Iinformation was provided by the Texas House of Represenatives.
