Jacqueline Patterson, 12, looks for names on children’s presents at the El Buen Samaritano Episcopal Mission in south Austin, who in collaboration with St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, presented Christmas presents to 700 Austin children this morning at the church. The mission is dedicated to providing programs and services to working-poor Hispanic families so they gain self-sufficiency to lead healthier more productive lives.

Many waited patiently before presenting their names for the present pickup.

Juan Rosa plays Santa Claus and endears himself to Dania Gomez, 4, after she collected her presents.

Jeimi Moncada, left, walks with her daughter Jeimi Jimenz, 2, and her friend Maria Manriquez, with her son Juan Jesus Manriquez, 1, to the bus stop for their ride home after collecting their Christmas presents at the El Buen Samaritano Episcopal Mission in south Austin. Since 1987 the mission has helped more than 36,000 people every year.
