The much anticipated release of Marvel Comic Books Amazing Spiderman Issue 583 has come, and you can get your commemorative copy at Austin Books and Comics at 5002 N. Lamar before they sell out. The comic book features President-Elect Barack Obama and store owner Brad Bankston has only 100 copies available. Victor Chatman, sporting a Spiderman wool cap, was first in line at 3:30a when he got off work. “This comic has a special significance for me. My father is the second generation of his family out of slavery and I wanted to send this to him. He lives in Columbus, South Carolina.” said Chatman, who is foregoing his own copy waiting for the second release.

The line was manageable with only 100 copies available on a first-come-first-serve one copy per person system. And Bankston’s store charged the normal retail price of $3.99. If you didn’t buy your copy, don’t fret a second printing will be forthcoming in the near future.
