Fifth graders from Andrews elementary school in AISD in northeast Austin watch the Inauguration of Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States and the country’s first African-American elected to the office. From left, Daria Howard cradles her biography book, Anthony Mathis, 11, sports his favorite Obama t-shirt, and Mariah Malone, 10, listens intently to his speech, during the ceremony carried live on CNN and every other network.

Brandy Miller, 10, left, and Daria Howard, 10, right, salute the American flag during the playing of the National Anthem.

And then celebrate with high-fives after he officially takes the oath of office.
