 Waco Midway played Mansfield Timberview in the UIL Girls Class 4A State Final at the Frank Erwin Center Saturday afternoon. Midway’s Mackenzie Robertson hugs her mother Kim Mulkey, Baylor University Women’s coach, after her team won the title with a convincing victory 50-27. Mulkey had to scramble back to Waco for her team’s game tonight.

Timberview came in to the game with the No. 1 ranking in the state, but surrendered to Midway 50-27 and receives the runner-up trophy.

Midway’s Cokie Reed, a UT recruit, draws the foul on Timberview’s Chanice Smith during third quarter action that saw Midway pull away with the convincing victory 50-27. Midway held the top-ranked team in the state to two points in the third quarter.
