I was awestruck when I came across this beautiful young girl while on assignment in the Dove Springs Neighborhood in southeast Austin this afternoon. She is the grand daughter of Ofelia Zapata, an Austin Interfaith board member the newspaper is profiling in an article this Sunday. I was captivated by her hazel eyes, but they seemed to change color as she moved appearing slate gray to gorgeous green. I remarked to her mother she had beautiful eyes as she said “She’s an angel. We have no idea where she got them, probably from someone long down the line.” Photo by Ralph Barrera/Austin American-Statesman

  3. Hello, she is wonderful! I have the same eyes, not as open as her eyes but the color
changes depending on my mood or weather, from hazel to green, sometimes blue.
This is very nice to see someone else has this effect 🙂 The photo you shot here
is great as well, close up with great details.
