What started as a homecoming for soldiers in World War II the Bastrop Homecoming and Rodeo Grand Parade is held annually through historic Main Street as was the case Saturday morning to kickoff festivities for their annual event. War Veterans Paul Schenck, of Korea, left, and Tommy Swearingen, of Vietnam, right, lead the parade in downtown Bastrop. I love small town parades or any parade for that matter. The photo opportunities are endless. It does however become difficult to make a truly outstanding picture, because your mind is overloaded with possibilities. I figured since the parade got its origins from the war I though it only fitting to include these veterans.
