Nine Dominican Sisters of Mary from Ann Arbor, Michigan arrived in Austin this week to begin the next phase of their religious growth, studying and teaching at two Catholic schools in Central Texas. The sisters, whose average age is 26 years-old, will venture to Santa Cruz Catholic Church in Buda, TX. for elementary classes and St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School in far north Austin. The sisters, who live extremely modest lives, packed their entire belongings in just two suitcases for the trip. I had a wonderful time meeting and chatting with these young women and look forward to following the Buda sisters as they embark on a new school year.
