Opening statements began in the Albert Jesse Segura Capital murder trial in the 147th District Court of Travis County, Judge Jon Wisser presiding. Segura is accused of murdering Billy Gene Ferguson and Patricia Ann Smith in November 2007 after a dispute with friend Mario Rivera, who was also shot. If found guilty Segura could receive the death penalty.
