Paul Devoe Capital Murder Trial Begins

The Capital murder trial of Paul Devoe started in the 406th District Court of Brenda Kennedy at the Criminal Justice Center in Travis County Monday morning. Devoe is on trial for six killings in a crime spree in August 2007. Prosecution witness Sharon WIlson testifies how Devoe held a handgun to her head and threatened to kill her inside her home that he lived in for a brief period. Devoe let her go, but stole money,  a credit card and her truck before setting out on his killing spree which ended with his apprehension in Shirley, New York. Wilson managed to run when he turned his back on her and lay in a bed of cactus hiding until he left her property. At right Devoe wipes away tears as he listens to the testimony of his friend Bill Brinlee who treated him like family and from whom he stole the handgun used in the killings.
