South Congress Avenue Troubadour Jonny Next UK has been entertaining the likes of sidewalk pedestrians and shop goers for the better part of three years in the business district south of downtown. “This is where I am, all the time.” said Jonny, who plays a lot of rock for small change. The newspaper was already put to bed when I happened by after an assignment and decided to visit with him in hopes of making a picture for myself. Jonny is an interesting character, very friendly and certainly entertaining. You never know who you’ll meet on the streets, but you do have to get out of the car to do it.

  1. Getting out of one’s car is a good thing to do especially if you’re a news photographer. I’ve honestly edited some stuff where it’s apparent someone didn’t.

I’ve taken up bike riding and carry my son’s Coolpix and it’s truly a great way to see stuff because I don’t dare ride on the main streets that I usually do while driving.
