Overnight rains in the hill country and Central Texas dropped several inches of rains needed to fill area lakes which are down due to a severe drought from the past year. This is a view of the Pedernales River looking south from the Texas Highway 71 West bridge showing a steady increase in the rainwater runoff headed for Lake Travis. LCRA officials say the lake will rise 11 feet over the next few days.
