St. Edward’s University Expanding Horizons

“In the past 10 years, St. Edward’s University has expanded its faculty and student body, boosted graduation rates, raised its national rankings, built or renovated 17 buildings, and added 43 academic programs, including criminology and environmental chemistry. Now, having achieved many of the goals established in a 1999 strategic plan, officials are working to give the private Catholic school on a South Austin hilltop a more international flavor.Partnerships have been struck with a few foreign universities, and more are in the works. The goal is for every student, or nearly every student, to study abroad; currently, about 25 percent do so. At the same time, school officials hope to draw more foreign students and faculty members to campus.”, this according to my colleague Ralph Haurwitz, with whom I combined on this story.
