Reagan High School Getting New Baseball Field Courtesy of MLB

The Reagan high school baseball field is getting a  major-league makeover this summer funded in part through a grant from the Baseball Tomorrow Fund. The project will be renovated under the watchful eyes of Dan Bergstrom, the Houston Astros’ director of field operations, and is scheduled for completion in mid-January. The ballpark was chosen for a makeover by major-league groundskeepers, who undertake one such project each year. Jesse Valadez, with Landscapes Unlimited, tills the native soil of the old grass field, which then will be leveled and resodded. A water sprinkler system will be installed and the field will have a warning track and other nice up-to-date features. His father Jose Valadez fixes some tough spots with a shovel.
