Central Texas Hit Hard by Rain From Tropical Storm Hermine

Tropical Storm Hermine dumped several inches of rain on Central Texas overnight and into Wednesday causing widespread flooding. In Georgetown the damage was everywhere. Several people staying at the Shady River RV Resort on East Highway 29 awakened in the early morning hours to flash flooding without much time to save their vehicles and trailers. Georgetown residents in several low-lying neighborhoods spent the better part of the day ripping out carpet, siphoning excess water, salvaging belongings and assessing the damage. Others sought help from the Red Cross at the Georgetown Recreation Center.
