I have long been fascinated by the homeless in Austin, maybe ever since a good friend of mine use to live in his car when I first met him. The other day I saw this woman, only for the second time around downtown, sleeping at a city bus stop across from the police station. She is mentally disabled and in need of social services and I am trying to find a way to communicate with her. To tell you the truth she scares me. Stay tuned. I’ll try to come up with a solution.
