Storms Drop Several Inches of Rain, Causing Massive Flooding in Austin

These people paddled through flooded streets along Bluff Springs Rd. in search of anyone in need. Overnight and early morning rains once again saturated the Austin area and caused major flooding along local creeks and low-lying areas Thursday October 31, 2013. Amongst the hardest hit were neighborhoods along Onion Creek in southeast Austin off of Bluff Springs Rd. Emergency responders rescued 62 people from the area with only one injury. Several people remained behind taking refuge in their rain-soaked homes.
