In the morning of ice storm #2 I stopped to fill my car with gas before heading out into the great unknown when I came across this man in a suit and tie struggling with his frozen car. Travis Roberts pulled into a south Austin gas station near Westgate Blvd. to try and de-ice his windshield using a plastic pitcher container, which is all he had. “I was hoping for more success.” said Roberts. I tried to help but my ice scrapper was in my other car. Go figure. Winter weather once again moved through the Austin area Tuesday morning January 28, 2014 in the form of icy, sleet and freezing rain, causing extensive delays, traffic accidents and finally cancellation of school classes.
